The Education Mode Transformation of Self⁃study Examination
from the Perspective of Ubiquitous Learning Theory

Abstract:The ubiquitous learning theory believes that one can get any information they need despite
of time and space by the use of learning devices. The ubiquitous learning theory has its theoretical basis
in people⁃oriented education values, postmodernism learning theory, social constructivism, situated cog⁃
nition, and etc. This theory emphasizes the learner’s the central position and active construction, pays
attention to the interaction between informal learning and learning process. Self⁃study examination and u⁃
biquitous learning theory has a natural relation. From the ubiquitous learning theory, the education mode
of self⁃study examination should be reformed in the following aspects: establishing the examinee⁃oriented
education value, perfecting learning resource information model, developing the informal education
mode, reforming the academic evaluation mode, and etc.
