    Primitivism is one of leading qualities of D. H. Lawrences novels, which can be described in terms of his worship of nature, glorification of bloodconsciousness and infatuation with counterculture. His major works such as Women in Love, Sons and Lovers and The Plumed Serpent demonstrate that the nature of his primitivism is his bitter criticism of the modern industrialized civilization, pursuit of the true value of human life, and search for the road to salvation of mankind.
